You made it through, good work! On this page we will talk about Forms and Form Controls.
What is a Form?
A form is a document designed to capture, edit, and organize information. A form is made up of different kinds of form controls, some of which we will examine here.
Form controls are the screen elements that display data, make it easier for users to enter or edit data, perform an action, or make a selection from a number of choices. In general, controls make a form easier to use.
The common form controls we will cover here include text fields, drop down menus, radio buttons, checkboxes, and buttons.
Lets look at a form that you might find on a web page and see how you would interact with the form controls. Keep going to explore this form.
Practice using Form Controls
The first section of this form contains text fields. To fill them out Find the Field, Double-Tap with One Finger to go into Text Edit Mode, Type Your Answer, and then Swipe Right with One Finger to continue to the next section of the form.
Your doing great, the next section of this form contains drop down menus.
When you find a drop down menu on a web page, you activate it with a One Finger Double-Tap to open the list of options, then Swipe through with One Finger to find your choice, and then Double-Tap with One Finger to make your selection.
The next section contains radio buttons. Only one radio button can be selected at a time; if you choose one and then change your selection, your first choice will be deselected. Complete the next section and move on.
The next section contains a drop-down list, you can only choose one.
Checkboxes
The next section of this form contains check boxes. Check boxes are used to make multiple choice selections, you can have many selections rather than being limited to only one selection.
Well that covers the form control, you will find them all over the internet because they are one of the main ways you can select and provide information on a website. You can go to the VO Utility lesson by following the link below.
