New Idea: Read From Here

In 2.2, you used a two-finger swipe down to have VoiceOver read a list of jungle signs from the first item all the way down.

Here’s a new power move: Read All starts from wherever VoiceOver is focused. That means you can jump to a spot on the page and then use a two-finger swipe down to read from that checkpoint.

On this page, there are three jungle checkpoints: Camp, River, and Cliff. Each checkpoint has its own short story and a secret code word.

To play:

  1. Turn VoiceOver ON if it isn’t already.
  2. Use the Go to Camp / River / Cliff buttons to move VoiceOver focus to the checkpoint you want.
  3. When focus is on a checkpoint story, do a two-finger swipe down to have VoiceOver read from there.
  4. Listen carefully for the secret code word at the River checkpoint.
  5. Then answer the question at the bottom by choosing the correct code word.

These buttons help you move VoiceOver focus to each checkpoint. After you land there, use a two-finger swipe down to read from that point.

2. Checkpoint Stories

Move to a checkpoint using the buttons above. Then use a two-finger swipe down to hear that checkpoint’s story from where you are.

🏕 Camp Checkpoint

You arrive at Jungle Camp, where the parrots are roasting imaginary marshmallows over a pretend fire. One parrot insists the secret code word should be marshmallow, but nobody listens.

Nearby, a sloth is slowly flipping through a map upside down. A sign reads, “Camp rule: no snoring louder than the drums.” It’s peaceful, but this is not the checkpoint you need.

🌊 River Checkpoint

At the River checkpoint, the water splashes against stepping stones shaped like pineapple slices. A frog in a tiny safety vest checks everyone’s balance.

The parrot guide whispers, “The REAL secret code word is pineapple. Remember it for later.” A sign hangs from a vine: “Caution: extremely ticklish fish.”

🧗 Cliff Checkpoint

Up at the Cliff checkpoint, the wind makes the vines hum like kazoo music. A goat wearing sunglasses guards a snack box labeled cabbage.

The parrot suggests jumping off the cliff into a giant leaf pile, but a serious-looking turtle shakes its head no. A sign says, “Cliff rule: dramatic poses only.”

3. Question: What Was the Code Word?

Your teacher asks: “What is the secret code word at the River checkpoint?”

Make sure you have used a two-finger swipe down while focused on the River checkpoint story. Then choose your answer.
